After earning his Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology from California State University, Long Beach, graduating with high honors, Dr. Ryan received a Doctoral of Dental Surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry, graduating with numerous prestigious awards. Then he was one of just 15 dentists chosen nationally to attend a post-doctoral residency for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program (AEGD) at UCLA School of Dentistry. During this program, Dr. Ryan has undergone extensive training under the direction of world-renowned faculty with special emphasis on implant and aesthetic dentistry.
Currently, Dr. Ryan is a faculty member at the UCLA School of Dentistry where he serves as a Lecturer/Clinical Faculty. Dr. Ryan emphasizes to his dental students that they can become better dentists by combining excellent care with genuine compassion.

Currently, Dr. Thomas is a faculty member at the USC School of Dentistry where he serves as a Lecturer/Clinical Faculty. Dr. Thomas enjoys encouraging his dental students to always keep the pursuit of excellence as their primary goal.

Community Involvements
Doctor Ryan & Thomas have been recognized numerous times by the Orange County Dental Society (OCDS) for their efforts and dedication toward improving the oral health of the children in their community. Dr. Ryan & Thomas were honored “OCDS the Member of the Year award” in 2005. Dr. Thomas is currently appointed as “Chair of Oral Health Committee” at the Orange County Dental Society.

Tricia D. Bato was born and raised in Southern California. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), she chose to continue at UCLA to obtain her doctoral degree.
A career in periodontics was decided quite early in Dr. Bato’s educational path, as she had been involved in research projects related to the specialty during both her college and dental school years. She successfully completed a three-year residency at the University of Southern California and earned her Certificate in Periodontology. She also received the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Achievement in Periodontology and the California Society of Periodontists Award for Outstanding Periodontal Resident.
Dr. Bato is Board Certified in Periodontics and practices all aspects of periodontal therapy, including dental implant surgery and other surgeries aimed to augment bone for implant placement, gingival grafting, cosmetic periodontal surgery, and therapies that address gum disease. She is involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the California Society of Periodontists, the Western Society of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.
In addition to working in private practice full time, Dr. Bato teaches in the Periodontics Department at the UCLA School of Dentistry. She also enjoys playing the piano, reading and catching up on the latest sports, especially the Los Angeles Lakers, of which she is an avid fan.
Dr. Howard Liang is a Southern California native and was raised in the San Gabriel Valley. Dr. Liang graduated from the University of California, Riverside where he received a BS degree in Biology. He completed his dental training at the UCLA School of Dentistry and pursued further training in endodontics at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
During his advanced training in endodontics, he was involved in research in the application of lasers in endodontics. Before moving back to California, Dr. Liang directed the emergency endodontic program at Temple University and was a faculty member, teaching endodontics to dental students. Dr. Liang worked with general dentists as well as periodontists and endodontic specialists in private practice while living in Philadelphia.
Dr. Liang is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists and the California Dental Association. During his spare time, he enjoys traveling and exercising.
